I have been honored to serve the city of New Orleans for the past three and a half years as your at-Large Councilman. In that time, we have made tremendous strides. We have brought to fruition the long awaited Office of the Inspector General; we have paved the way for robust economic growth through the mechanism of public-private partnership; and the Council's contracting process is now open, transparent, and accountable.
But we are still not where we should, and need to be. Our citizens are still too vulnerable: the criminals roaming our streets and lack of adequate flood protection put the lives of New Orleanians at risk every day. Recreational opportunities for our youth are direly lacking. And the current budgetary process has proven far inadequate for the needs of New Orleans today.
With your help, I will tackle these issues head-on in my next term as Councilman at-Large. It is time to move forward. I believe in our greatness. I believe in our potential. We are on the right path, but there is much work to do. I ask for your support in my campaign for reelection to Council at-Large, so I may continue to serve our great city and get the job done.
